Building a House with Windows and Mirrors
What does it take to improve the quality of teaching and learning in early care and education settings? In this interactive and reflective plenary session, we will explore one of the essential domains in the Educare model framework, high-quality teaching and learning. An outcome is building strong instructional and family support leaders who can impact child and family outcomes and transform early childhood education. Our presenter will share lessons learned and best practices from the field, as weengage in a discussion of proven and promising strategies for building these essential elements into every day practice.
Dr. Gail Joseph is an associate professor of educational psychology and the director of the Early Childhood and Family Studies program at the University of Washington. She teaches courses, advises students and conducts research on topics related to early care and education. Learn more about Dr. Joseph.

- The Educare Learning Network will reserve rooms on behalf of all Educare staff.
For assistance with reservations please contact Nick Parrish at firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Cancellations must be made 72 hours prior to date of arrival by contacting Nick Parrish at email@example.com.
- Be advised that cancellation of individual reservations made up to 72 hours prior to arrival will be accepted and the deposit refunded for those rooms for the full night’s stay.
- Failure to cancel reservation will result in a no-show fee billed to the Educare Learning Network.

The Lilacia Park has been an attraction for locals and visitors since 1929. A short drive from our meeting location, please ask to make sure the lilacs have bloomed.
The Morton Arboretum (Distance: 6.0 miles)
The mission of The Morton Arboretum is to collect and study trees, shrubs, and other plants from around the world. The Arboretum founded in 1922 maintains living collections on display across naturally beautiful landscapes. The Morton Arboretum is a great place for a walk and relaxing get awayfrom the busy week.
Stacey’s Tavern Museum (Distance: 8.0 miles)
This tavern and Inn was one of the first inn constructed for passing settlers in DuPage County opening in 1846. The museum is a great place to learn about the development of Chicago’s suburbs and is on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
Cantigny Park (Distance: 10.8 miles)
Cantigny Park has many exciting activities and amenities to enjoy. They boast some of the area’s best gardens, a 27 hole golf course, walking trails, museum, and award winning dining.
