Description
This Early Head Start-Child Care Partnership Convening will continue the critical conversations that support the success of the partnerships in our communities. We are pleased to have Julie Salois-Tourville facilitate the community of practice. Julie brings a wealth of experience and real-life input into the work that we do every day.
Discussion topics
- Partners’ lack of understanding coming into the EHS-CC Partnerships of the full scope of what is needed to become an Early Head Start program
- Partnership grantees’ failed efforts—in some cases—and the federal oversight that is there to be sure the partners meet HSPS
- Some grantees are worried about the data analysis, accuracy and accountability of partners, and how it should be remedied.
- Communication with regional offices, the Office of Head Start and the Administration for Children and Families is confusing and each office often contradicts each other. What requirements or processes for monitoring will be used and how can schools prepare for these shifting requirements?
- Creating a sense of urgency and attention to the fully meeting the regulations, not just “sometime compliance”
- How do Educare schools communicate their strategic goals and mission and become part of the culture of the partners?
- How do we impose HSPS on partners who have a history of basing their services on family needs and not regulations?
- Open to more suggestions
