Family Support Learning Group Webinar

February 9, 2016
1-2:30pm Central Time
Audience: Family support supervisors
The Family Support Learning Group webinar allows the Network’s family support supervisors another opportunity to discuss their work together on behalf of parents, children and the staff they supervise.
Registration deadline: January 29, 2016
Description
Every time family support supervisors have come together over the past year, Nick Wechsler and Sharon Mueller have asked participants to identify discussion topics of importance. From survey responses last April and the prioritizing activity that took place at the June Family Support Learning Group meeting in Chicago, the Network’s family support supervisors identified three common themes that they found most meaningful to pursue for ongoing discussion at future community of practice and peer-learning events:
- Family engagement in Educare is an interdisciplinary endeavor
- Planning and offering meaningful parent meetings that meet program and family needs and engage families in fuller participation with the school and with each other
- Strengthening school culture
The Family Support Learning Group webinar will address the first two large focus areas: interdisciplinary work and parent meetings. Two groups of family support supervisors will plan and facilitate the peer discussions. Nick and Sharon thank these leaders as they take on this role with their peers in the upcoming webinar, and look forward to everyone contributing their thoughts for a dynamic conversation.
