The Family Support Learning Group (FSLG) events allow the Network’s family support supervisors an opportunity to discuss together their work on behalf of parents, children and the staff they supervise.
Description
Conversations during the February 20th FSLG Webinar will address questions peers posed of each other that have been loosely organized under the heading of “Family Engagement”. Supervisors will share their thoughts and discuss their learnings with one another about items such as strategies that best promote engagement (versus involvement); efforts to increase male/father involvement, as well as increase grandparents’ involvement of behalf of children; strategies to engage new/newer parents who have not yet participated in the more ‘fun’ or ‘casual’ events and activities the program has to offer; efforts to engage parents in meaningful dialogue during parent home visits; and strategies to provide parents’ orientation to program services for their children and also for themselves.
