Family Support Core Supervisors Virtual Training

Audience: Educare family support supervisors who have been employed in their current role one year or less
This interactive, virtual training series is designed for Educare family support supervisors to develop the knowledge, skills and practices to effectively lead their family support teams and implement the Educare Intensive Family Engagement (IFE) model at their schools. This new online offering will provide foundational knowledge about the family support supervisor role in Educare schools and provide supervisors with opportunities to explore and develop their leadership skills.
This pilot training utilizes a blended learning approach and is comprised of live webinars, self-paced learning modules, online discussion boards, group work and theory-in-action practice at Educare schools. The series begins with a live webinar in February and runs through March 2021. When registering, participants are committing to attend all webinar contacts as well as contributing to all discussion board threads and completing all assignments.
Registration deadline: January 20, 2021
Upon the completion of this virtual training series, Family Support Core Supervisors Training participants will be able to:
- Describe the family support supervisor’s role in being an effective leader and champion of family engagement in their school
- Demonstrate skills and strategies to support their team of direct service staff in carrying out the family support role and building collaborative partnerships with families, colleagues and the community
- Identify strategies for integrating trauma-informed care into family engagement systems and practices across the school
Prior to participating in this training series, registrants must have completed Family Support Core.
Meeting Locations and Times
The Educare Learning Network requests that school directors and family support supervisors ensure that there is program coverage while FS supervisors spend 3-5 hours per week engaging with the self-paced online training content as well as attending the following webinars.
