Description
The Educare Learning Network Team invites family support staff from Educare schools across the national Network to participate in the Spring Family Support Webinar. For those of you who are new or newer to the Network, this event is one of two semi-annual webinars (spring and fall) that are specifically designed to allow direct-service staff to connect with peers from other Educare schools regarding the work of family support.
Over the past two years, our Network has been involved in an effort to appreciate current family engagement practices throughout Educare schools and to chart a way forward in designing and implementing effective strategies for Intensive Family Engagement. At this time, the Network’s Family Engagement Advisory Committee and Task Teams continue efforts to drive the process of revising and better defining the intensive family engagement component within the Educare model framework. We look forward to some of you and your colleagues joining us in this effort.
During our Spring Family Support Webinar, we will focus on several elements that are integral to the evolution of Intensive Family Engagement—including strategies that
1) support parents’ availability, accessibility and acceptability of resources and referrals for themselves and their children
2) support parents’ domestic, educational and vocational goal attainment; and
3) support parents’ in improving their physical health, mental health and nutrition
The Spring Family Support peer-learning event has been organized so that the webinar will be conducted twice on the same day with the same content; however, staff are asked to participate in only one of these ‘same-content’ webinars. Past feedback from participants has indicated that this is a successful way to maximize the opportunity for staff to share and discuss their work with each other, given that there are approximately 105 Family Support staff from the 21 operational Educare schools in the Network.
Please see the list below to find which webinar time your school is encouraged to participate in. If previous commitments do not allow you to participate at the requested timeframe, please note that it is okay to register for the other webinar timeslot.
