Audience: Executive directors, school directors, master teachers, family support supervisors, parents, and teachers from each school
During the 2019 Educare Network Meeting in Lincoln, NE, interdisciplinary school teams and role-specific learning groups worked collaboratively to explore family engagement through the lens of diversity and inclusion. This in-person interdisciplinary learning group will build on the conversations that started in Lincoln and deepen each attendee’s and school team’s perspective on how diversity and inclusion enrich their school culture and community and how they can be a champion of every child, family and staff person’s voice.

Description

Training Objectives
- Deepen school teams’ approach to diversity and inclusion in their Educare community.
- Deepen individual participants’ approach to diversity and inclusion as it relates to their role in their Educare community, both personally and professionally.
- Explore how parent voice is included in the ongoing conversation around diversity and inclusion within Educare schools.

The Educare Learning Network will cover the following expenses for participants to attend this event: airfare, hotel accommodations (two nights) and meals during meeting times.

Travel
Airfare
The Educare Learning Network will reimburse your school for airfare expenses for seven people per school attending the event. We will also cover one baggage fee per person each way. Airfare arrangements should be completed at least 21 days prior to the travel date. All flights must be booked in economy class. Airfares greater than $500 must be approved before purchase be contacting us at registration@educarenetwork.org. Please forward original receipts within 30 days of the event for timely reimbursement.
Driving
For participants driving to Kansas City, there will be a mileage reimbursement of $0.58 per mile, up to $500. Please forward travel reimbursement form with map of driving route within 30 days of the event for timely reimbursement.
Airport Shuttle Service
The Kansas City Airport (MCI) offers several choices for shuttle transportation between the airport and downtown Kansas City. Visit the Kansas City Airport website for a full list of options and contact information.

The Educare Learning Network will handle your hotel accommodation throughout your stay. We will cover the cost for up to seven participants, covering rooms plus tax for two nights. Guests are required to provide a credit card during check-in to cover the cost of incidentals and other additional charges. Attendees wishing to extend their stay at the group rate must submit their request in writing as part of completing their online registration. All extended stay requests are subject to availability and will be at the expense of the attendee unless your return transportation requires an additional overnight stay.

Cancellations
- Cancellations must be made 48 hours prior to date of arrival
- The Educare Learning Network must be notified of all cancellations by contacting us at registration@educarenetwork.org.
- Be advised that cancellation of individual reservations made up to 48 hours prior to arrival will be accepted and the deposit refunded for those rooms for the full night’s stay.
- Failure to cancel reservation will result in a no-show fee to the Educare Learning Network.
