Mindfulness in Schools Using EMBRACE
September 13, 2019
The Educare Learning Network is excited to share that Educare schools in Silicon Valley, Milwaukee, Flint and Denver (at Clayton Early Learning Center) are studying the impact of a workforce mindfulness model called EMBRACE (Effective Mindfulness Building Responsive and Confident Educators) which gives early childhood educators the tools to support their mental health. Our schools are participating in this three-year research project that we hope will provide effective methods to mitigate the job-related stress that leads to teachers leaving the field.
Implementation of the EMBRACE mindfulness study is possible thanks to an Acceleration Grant provided by the Buffett Early Childhood Fund. Acceleration Grants were designed to inspire innovation and promote connection across the Educare Learning Network. Through these grants, Network members collaborated to develop new approaches to coaching, science education, language acquisition, and social-emotional development.
