Educare Leaders Graduate From Head Start Fellows Program
August 11, 2022
Strong leadership at individual Educare schools is part of what makes the Educare model work. From thought leadership and collaboration with partners in the field to ongoing professional development, our Educare leaders are driving change in the field of early childhood education.
Today, we’re excited to share that two Educare leaders, Rhonda Kaiser (School Director at Educare Central Maine) and Talia Newman (Director of Early Head Start Partnerships at Educare Washington D.C.), recently graduated from the federally sponsored UCLA Head Start Management Fellows Program. Designed from a strategic planning perspective, this program provides a unique opportunity for Head Start executives to participate in a 12-day intensive leadership and management development training session at UCLA Anderson School of Management.
These two Educare leaders were selected from hundreds of applicants to attend the leadership and management development program for Head Start administrators in July. The program’s competency-based curriculum focused on leadership and management skills, knowledge, and abilities most relevant to Head Start/Early Head Start partnerships.
From Rhonda Kaiser:
“As a leader, I am aware of the influence I have on a number of outcomes, including the climate and culture of the workplace, customer satisfaction, productivity and more. This program has helped to reinvigorate my passion and drive to become a better leader with an entrepreneurial mindset.
From Talia Newman:
“The program was an amazing experience that exposed me to an immeasurable amount of knowledge and skills to improve my program and business overall. I enjoyed networking and leveraging thought partners that assisted me in creating a plan to provide high-quality programming to the most underserved and vulnerable families.”
Additional curriculum topics – such as diversity, equity and inclusion, data utilization, marketing, climate and culture of the workplace, workforce development, strategy and more – will support the work of both Educare leaders at their respective schools, and ultimately align with the Educare Network’s strategic plan.
Congratulations to Rhonda and Talia on the completion of this program!
